exclaim Two Factor Authentication Enrollment 

 


Overview

In order to complete the process of enabling 2-factor authentication for your exclaim account, you will need to choose a method of receiving the “2nd factor” authentication code or pin.

This document describes step-by-step instructions for configuring the different methods of receiving the “2nd factor” authentication code or pin. The options presented below allow you to receive the codes (or pins) via an app on a mobile device, or via a desktop application on your computer.

 

Once 2-factor authentication is enabled, you will be prompted every 30 days to log into your exclaim account with your password and authentication pin.

Enabling 2 Factor Enrollment   

 

Upon your initial login you will be prompted to select a method for which you wish you receive your authentication code (or pin). Select on your preferred method for instructions on how to get the app installed on your respected device.  Below are some methods available: 

 

Mobile applications


  • Google Authenticator

  • Authenticator 

  • Duo Mobile

  • WinAuth



 

Installing your app

Select the the link next to the method you have chosen to receive your Code (or pin) for instructions on installing the app on your device.  

 

  1. Google Authenticator

  2. Duo Mobile

  3. Authenticator

  4. WinAuth - link will begin app download

 

 

   

Exclaim 2-Factor setup

Please ensure that prior to moving forward you are at the exclaim page with the barcode present on your screen.  




Get codes via a mobile app (Android or iPhone)

  1. Open Google Authenticator, Authenticator or Duo Mobile app on your device. 

  2. Select the “+” in the bottom right hand corner of your screen

  3. Select Scan a Barcode

  4. Scan the barcode on your web browser using the app

  5. Phone will vibrate when scan performed correctly

  6. New account will be added to your authenticator app. 


Get codes via WinAuth desktop application

  1. Open WinAuth on your computer

  2. Select Add in the bottom left corner

  3. Select Google

  4. In the Name section type exclaim

  5. Leave default Icon as is.

** Leave the WinAuth application open and proceed to the next step **

  1. Return to your web browser

  2. Under Can't scan the barcode copy (Ctrl+C) the 16 characters shown in the grey box

  3. Return to the WinAuth desktop application and paste (Ctrl+V) the code provided into the section that reads Enter secret code for your authenticator. 

  4. Click Verify authenticator. This will generate a 6-digit code.

  5. Return to your browser window, and select next 

  6. Enter the 6-digit code that was provided to you by the desktop application when you selected Verify authenticator

  7. If performed correctly you will be automatically logged into exclaim. If not, you may need to repeat entering an updated 6-digit code (as they change every 30 seconds)

  8. In the desktop WinAuth application, select OK

  9. Another box will open uncheck the blue box that reads set password and hit OK at the bottom of your screen.
